Why the Refund Is Happening
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reached a $245 million settlement with Epic Games. They claimed Fortinet used “dark patterns” to trick players, including kids, into unwanted purchases. As a result, nearly $126 million is being refunded this week.
🪙 Who Can Claim
You qualify if, between Jan 2017 and Sept 2022:

You were charged for items you didn’t mean to buy.

Your child made unauthorized purchases (Jan 2017–Nov 2018).

Your account was locked after disputing charges.
Eligible U.S. residents—even those who filed after Feb 14—can now still apply.
How Much Will You Get?

In the first round, the average refund was ~$114.

This second round averages ~$130 per player.
How to Apply

Go to the FTC refund site (search “FTC Fortinet refund”).

Enter your Epic Account ID or claim number.

Choose refund method: PayPal (accept in 30 days) or check (cash within 90 days).

Submit by July 9, 2025.
Note: If you already filed after Feb 14, you’ll receive it soon—no need to reapply.
